Halm Jet Envelope 4 colour Printing Press Operators

Job Purpose:

  • To produce high quality print to the timescales required for efficient working
  • To keep the machine in good working order

Key Contacts/Working Relationships:

  • The role is to be part of our Overprint Team
  • The role reports directly to the Print Manager

Job Holder Responsibilities:

  • To produce printed envelopes to the job specification supplied
  • To ensure the quality of every job.
  • To follow the quality standards as described in our ISO 9001 procedures for Printing
  • To complete all paperwork associated with the job and the quality procedure
  • To ensure a high level of Health and Safety is maintained on the machine at all times
  • To complete any routine cleaning and maintenance of the press (maintenance is supported by our internal Team)
  • To complete all hours as detailed in the shift pattern supplied and to provide holiday cover for other team members
  • All work carried out and any waste created must be moved or disposed in adherence with our environmental standard ISO 14001

Decision Making Authority:

  • Solo decision making on colour and print of every job produced, supported by the Line Manager (when on site) and the system at all times

Job Specific Skills Essential:

  • Significant, recent experience of running a 4 colour envelope printing press
  • Excellent colour knowledge and ability to identify poor print
  • Experience of using colour management standards

Preferred:

  • Experience of running a Halm Jet presses is essential
  • Experience of working within ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 practices

Major Challenges:

  • Ensuring highest quality print at all times whilst keeping make ready and set-up times to a minimum for efficiency
  • Achieving agreed output targets

  • Solution focused approach to solve issues and problems
  • Ability to be flexible and an understanding (of the print industry demands)

Reprographics Mac Operative and Plate Maker

Job Purpose:

  • To produce high quality and timely artwork files for print to timescales required for efficient working
  • To keep Macs updated and plate making machines in good working order Key Contacts/Working Relationships:
  • The role is to be part of our Customer Service and Production Team
  • The role reports directly to the Operations Manager

Job Holder Responsibilities:

  • Create artwork, Typesetting & Proof Reading
  • Using Apple Mac to check artwork suitable for printing
  • Oversee the completion of large volumes of work whilst managing and achieving multiple deadlines
  • Good working knowledge Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Excellent IT skills Skills

Job Specific Skills Essential:

  • A minimum of two years Reprographics experience & good knowledge of Apple Mac’s
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC & Pitstop Pro
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign – Adobe Illustrator – Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience of using colour management standards

Required:

  • Previous experience within a busy studio environment
  • Knowledge of overprinting
  • Working knowledge of Rip Systems
  • Knowledge of Litho and Digital workflow systems
  • Knowledge of Colour Management
  • Knowledge of Litho CTP Units & Processor Maintenance
  • Retouching skills
  • To follow the quality standards as described in our ISO 9001 procedures for Printing
  • To complete all paperwork associated with the job and the quality procedure
  • To ensure a high level of Health and Safety is maintained on all equipment at all times
  • To complete any routine cleaning and maintenance of the reprographic equipment (maintenance is supported by our internal team)
  • To complete all hours as detailed in the shift pattern supplied and to provide holiday cover for other team members
